Time used
5 weeks
Target user
Young job seeking students and employers
Teamwork
As a team we have collaborated with shared responsibility.
Design challenges & considerations
Limited time.
Several rounds of testing and improvements would be necessary to refine the solution and further development.
Considerations and strict national regulations regarding hiring processes.
My role in the project
As a team we have collaborated throughout the whole project, with shared responsibility. My role in the project particularly includes: Research. Literature reviews, survey and interviews. Analyzing and gaining insight. Contribution to all workshops. Empathizing. making personas and user scenarios. Ideation and solution development. Usability testing, analyzing and iteration. Annotations, wire framing, prototyping and making interactive components.
Mission
How can we develop a way for students to find flexible work in their area?
How can we help businesses that hires students part time to find the right candidate?
How we approached the challenge
This design process has included the five design steps Empathizing, defining, ideating, prototyping & testing
During this project we made low, mid and high fidelity wireframes. We conducted two rounds of usability testing, iterated and made recommendations for further development.
Research methods used
Insight gained from research
Personas and user scenarios
User goals
Problem & Vision statement
The Idea process
Hierarchical structure & Task flows
User flows
Mid fidelity wireframes
First usability testing
Iterations after the first usability test
Design decisions
Design decisions
We have created a design system to achieve consistency, clarity and quality throughout the solution. We made interactive components for the prototype.
Accessibility
We have implemented guidelines throughout the solution that align with accessibility guidelines WCAG 2.1
By making a design system and components we aim to achieve consistency and clarity throughout the whole design.
Inclusive design
We aim to create an inclusive design solution. We want everyone to be able to use the app despite vision impairments or other physical challenges or disabilities.
The app should also be inclusive in a wider meaning.
We want to develop a solution where personal qualities are the most important factor for matching the needs of an employer. We hope to make an app that meets the needs of job seekers regardless of education and work experience.
We hope this will be a helpful tool to include even more young people in everyday work life.

Further development
Considering the future evolution of this solution, we would implement numerous enhancements and conduct multiple rounds of testing.
Next steps
-Iterate wireframes
-Create new user flows and test tasks
-Third usability test
-Improve features within the app
-Improve layout
Reflections on learning and improvement
Useful experiences and learnings from this project
The research part was comprehensive. The research findings were important, especially since they gave us data that made us change our hypothesis. Although the research part was important, it was very time consuming. This was a bit unfortunate, considering the time limitation of 5 weeks. The project has given me good learning regarding disposition of time.
It was both time consuming and interesting to make the solution by approaching the challenge from two different perspectives with a goal to meet the needs of two user groups. Considering that the two user groups have different needs and belongs to different generations, we had to make a solution suitable for both groups.
Working in a team has been wonderful. We have encouraged each other and lifted each other, pushing each other to do our best.
